Since the start of the year I have been struggling. I was waiting for surgery and was in quite a lot of pain. I didn't realise how distracting that was, or how much energy was being zapped by my malfunctioning gall bladder until it was gone! That combined with my ever fluctuating hormones, and a stressful few months with things happening beyond my control, my writing has suffered.
I have barely written anything towards my new book. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, because I have realised that I need to do quite a big rework - everything happens for a reason.
I have also been coasting with my writing here a bit.
I have written regularly, but not to my usual standard. That is changing. Since the end of July, when I got back from my holiday, I have been making an effort to be more conscious with my writing. I’ve created a rough plan for my articles, and have doubled the number of articles I want to write a month. I have even allocated days to post. I’ve decided that once my son starts college in September, I will dedicate two days a week to my book. Rather than just writing as and when I can, I need to get some structure back to my writing life.
